Credit card skimmers have become a problem across the country, which is why the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has placed stickers on each gas pump. These stickers give details on ways to report suspected gas pump skimmers and also pumps that may be delivering inaccurate amounts of gas.
Each gas pump in the state of Texas has a sticker shaped like the state with three ways for you to report a questionable pump. You can do it by scanning a QR code, by calling 1-888-441-FUEL, or by going to the TDLR complaints page.
They also want you to stay vigilant for any signs of tampering at the pump. One possible way to spot a skimmer is to see if the fuel dispenser door seems damaged. Thieves have to open those doors to place a skimmer, so if the security tape is missing or damaged, beware of that pump.
There are also high- and low-tech options to spot a skimmer. The high-tech solution is an Android app called Skimmer Scanner that search for suspicious Bluetooth connections that could be associated with a skimmer.
The low-tech option is more like a precaution. You should try to pick a fuel pump that’s visible to the gas station clerk as pumps that are farther away would be easier for a crook to tamper with without being seen.
The last thing we want at Mitchell Buick GMC is for someone to leave the dealership in a brand-new truck, only for their credit card info to get skimmed the first time they fill up the tank. We hope that these gas pump stickers help customers better protect themselves.
A good way to stay on top of routine vehicle maintenance is to plan on performing some car care with the changing seasons. And with spring just around the corner, here are some helpful spring car care tips that will help you keep your vehicle in top shape all year long.
Wash and wax
Cleaning your car isn’t just about making it look good. Washing your vehicle’s exterior prevents the build up of corrosive substances that can damage the paint and harm the resale value of your vehicle. Go the extra mile and apply a coat of wax to keep your vehicle even more protected.
Tires are one of the most important components of any vehicle. This spring, make a habit of monitoring your vehicle’s tires for proper pressure and alignment. Doing so will keep you safe and also ensure optimal performance.
Replacing your vehicle’s wiper blades frequently is inexpensive and a great way to stay as safe as possible no matter the conditions on the road. If your vehicle’s wiper blades are bent, cracked, or just not working like they used to, it’s time to replace them.
Look under the hood
Even if you’re no mechanical expert, it’s a good idea to take look under your car’s hood occasionally. A quick glance is often all it takes to check for any major corrosion or leaks that should be fixed right away.
Do you prefer to stay hands-off when it comes to car maintenance? No problem. Just bring your car to Mitchell Buick GMC for top-notch service. We’ll make sure it’s ready for the warm weather!
In the past, Harley-Davidson has released special edition pickup trucks based on the popular motorcycle brand. However, those models were always released with a Ford badge. Now, the famed brand has revealed a Harley-Davidson GMC Sierra — the first time GMC enthusiasts have been able to get their hands on a collaboration between the two popular brands.
The Harley-Davidson Sierra pickup will get unique touches like a grille with the Harley-Davidson logo, redesigned bumpers, and 22-inch wheels inspired by the legendary Fat Boy. Those wheels will be wrapped in 35-inch all-terrain tires for your off-roading needs. Drivers who buy the special HD Sierra will also find it has Fox shocks and a lifted suspension.
Special HD badging in the cabin and diamond-stitched leather seats greet you the moment you open the door and climb in. There are orange accents in the cabin to represent Harley-Davidson, of course, as well as revised gauges.
Want to get in one the Harley-Davidson GMC Sierra? You better be quick. Only 250 models of the unique collaboration will ever be made, so you’ll have to get them while they’re hot. The truck is said to be launching this February on authorized dealer lots. No price tag is yet available, so keep an eye out for more news.

Buick’s commitment towards building the safest vehicles was validated when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating to three of Buick’s 2020 SUV models. Buick is proud of the award and further inspired to find ways in which to make their vehicles even safer.
The NHTSA tests vehicles in three areas: Frontal Crash rating, Side Crash rating, and Rollover rating. The Frontal Crash rating measures the impact of a head-on collision at 35 mph for both the driver-side and passenger-side. The Side Crash rating combines scores from side barrier testing, a test to determine the effects of a side-impact collision. Rollover ratings reflect the likelihood of a vehicle rolling over in the event of an accident.
The three SUVs to receive the 5-Star Overall Safety Rating were the 2020 Buick Encore, Envision, and Enclave. The subcompact Encore received four stars in Rollover testing and five stars for both Frontal Crash and Side Crash ratings. The midsize Envision and the large three-row 2020 Buick Enclave both received four stars for Rollover and Frontal Crash ratings to go along with five stars for Side Crash ratings. Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning are both available in all vehicles.

Halloween is one of the most exciting times of the year to be a kid for a lot of reasons: dressing up, scary movies, and — of course — trick-or-treat. As we get closer to trick-or-treat time, keep these vital safety tips for kids in mind.
Driving on Halloween: While the Buick and GMC vehicles you purchase from Michell come with industry-leading safety features, trick-or-treat poses additional safety risks you must consider. Always take it slow and keep a watchful eye out for children at intersections, driveways, and even in the road.
Costume Safety: When planning your child’s costume, consider reflective or bright items to help drivers easily see your trick-or-treater. If your son or daughter has a dark costume in mind, have him or her bring a glow stick or flashlight to remain visible.
Pedestrian Pro-Tips: Have a conversation with your children before beggar’s night to discuss pedestrian safety. Make sure kids know the basics: look both ways before crossing, stay on the sidewalk, and be wary of cars. Importantly, children should know to put the cell phones and other gadgets away to avoid distractions.
Of course, the best way to ensure your child is safe during trick-or-treat is to provide adult supervision. No child under 12 should trick-or-treat alone, and older children should stay in groups.

The GMC MultiPro™ tailgate captured the hearts of truck drivers everywhere when it was released, and the GMC CarbonPro™ Edition will likely have the same effect. The CarbonPro™ carbon fiber bed will be available on the Sierra Denali 1500 and Sierra AT4 1500 in limited quantities this summer. The innovative CarbonPro™ bed is the first of its kind: It’s constructed with carbon fiber composite to deliver best-in-class dent, scratch, and corrosion resistance.
The CarbonPro™ bed is the toughest bed out there, protecting
your truck no matter what you’re hauling. Not only is the CarbonPro™ bed
incredibly strong and durable, but it naturally resists corrosion, guaranteeing
its durability over time and making a spray-in bedliner unnecessary. It also
weighs approximately 25 percent less than a standard steel bed — reducing truck
weight by about 60 pounds — and offers best-in-class cargo volume.
To optimize the bed’s functionality, the CarbonPro™ bed
features indentations for bike tires and two additional tie-down spots. The
CarbonPro™ bed’s heavy-duty credentials were validated by comprehensive
testing, including drop tests, a corrosion test, and extreme temperature
The CarbonPro™ bed will be more widely available in the coming year, with a greater quantity of models being produced for the 2020 model year. To learn about how you can get your hands on a GMC CarbonPro™ Edition Sierra, stop into Mitchell Buick GMC.
