Seasonal festivities abound in central Texas. Here are a few holiday events in San Angelo, if you’re still needing some fun Christmas plans this month.
Kayak Through the Lights – Dec. 14
Take to the water while witnessing onshore lights when you participate in Kayak Through the Lights. Hosted by Kayaking Divas and Dudes, this fun event provides the perfect opportunity to showcase your decorated kayak or canoe while building memories with loved ones. Paddlers will meet behind the girl Scouts building off of 304 W. Avenue A., where participants will launch their boats into the Concho River.
Run Rudolph Run – Dec. 15
Release some endorphins and help burn off some holiday calories when you take part in the Run Rudolph Run on Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m. This non-competitive run/walk event is open to strollers and wheelchairs to accommodate a wide range of participants. The route starts at Old Town on East Avenue B. and extends 2.5 miles through the Tour of Lights. There’s also cookies and hot cocoa if you need more incentive for donning your running shoes.
Tuba Christmas – Dec. 21
If you’re a fan of brass instruments, you’ll want to catch the Tuba Christmas concert on Dec. 21. This free performance will be held at noon at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. Local tuba and euphonium players from the Concho Valley will share a program of traditional holiday songs while you sit back and soak up the soundwaves with your family or friends.
